How to get Thicker Eyelashes

by admin on March 1, 2009

Surprising many people have questions about eyelashes.  How long does it take for them to grow back?  What works for making eye lashes grow thicker?  Here are the answers you have been searching for:

Yes, Eyelashes grow!  The average time for an eye lash to lengthen is about 4 to 6 weeks.  The hair follicle is responsible for the growth of eye lashes, much like those of your scalp. During this time lashes fall and are replaced by new ones.  Average life cycle of lashes is about 90 days.

There are many myths about how to grow eyelashes, vaseline, cosmetic conditioners, even cutting them short to grow back longer!  None of these methods work.  The only proven way to increase eyelash length and thickness is with the new drug called Latisse. Even eyelash conditioners have not been proven to work!

What are my other options for longer and thicker eyelashes?  If you do not want to try Latisse, your other options are:

1.  Try eye lash extensions.  These semi-permanent eyelashes last months and look very natural.  They can be applied by a registered beautician.

2.  Try the basic false/fake eyelashes.  Some of the more expensive ones are made of natural hair.  They work quite well.  There are some techniques for applying false eyelashes.

3.  Investigate permanent eyelashes.  Actual hair follicles are transplanted by a surgeon.  As with any cosmetic surgery results can vary.

4.  Try a quality mascara.  Some of the new formulations are very effect for creating the appearance of fuller lashes.

These are the only ways to get longer and thicker eyelashes.  Good Luck!
